The Professional School of Education is responsible for teacher education at RUB in close cooperation with the faculties involved in teacher training. In this context, the PSE has a wide range of tasks in coordinating, advising or steering course development, practical phases, examinations, continuing and further education, promotion of research and junior staff, quality assurance in teacher education and cooperation with external partners, in particular the Center for Practical Teacher Training and the training schools.

The PSE is managed by a five-member board, whose members head the departments 'Teaching Development', 'Practical Phases', 'Research Transfer and Further Teacher Training', 'Graduate School of Educational Studies' (promotion of early career researchers) and 'Center of Educational Studies' (research support for senior researchers).
