Abstract

Digitization poses major challenges to European education systems, not only in terms of providing digital infrastructure, but especially in terms of its purposeful pedagogical use. Against this background, an international and interdisciplinary network of educational researchers and educational practice partners is developing ways to promote assessment and self-regulation skills in digital learning. These lead to a scientifically based and benefit-inspired framework for the promotion of "Self-Regulated Learning in Digitalized Schools" (SeReLiDiS). For this purpose, different scientific perspectives are brought together so that the framework includes basic as well as application and implementation research, maps SeReLiDiS in individual as well as collaborative settings and thereby relates the levels of students, teachers and schools to each other. On the one hand, the framework will be the theoretical basis for an agenda of international collaborative research. On the other hand, it can be used to derive options for action for educational practice in schools at an early stage and to evaluate them in initial pilot studies. The SeReLiDiS framework will provide a basis for the design of technological-pedagogical developments and thus make a decisive contribution to quality in education.
